Program Description:

MISEN Exchange Program

Overview
MISEN (Methodist International Student Exchange Network) connects participating institutions in the Methodist tradition, allowing their students to study at an institution in another country and receive academic credit at their own institution.  Under the umbrella of the International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges and Universities (IAMSCU), MISEN will facilitate the international awareness of students in all participating institutions.

This program will challenge, inspire and support students as individuals to grow intellectually, personally and spiritually, and achiever their best.  The MISEN study abroad program will contribute to the promotion of social justice and to counter prejudice and intolerance in whatever form that takes by encouraging mutual respect and understanding.

Studying abroad at participating institutions will prepare students to be responsible citizens and leaders in a fast-changing and complex world, respecting not only the value of cultural diversity but also of common humanity.  This program is committed to serving the needs to the local community in which the educational institution is situated, while also generating an understanding of the concept of service to all communities, national and international.

Why MISEN?
  • Study abroad offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture and earn academic credits at the same time.
  • The MISEN school agreement allows you to pay tuition at your home institution while earning credit abroad, so you can still use your financial aid towards your home institution's tuition.
  • Improve your foreign language skills while seeing the world.
  • In an increasingly globalized world, experience living overseas can be a valuable addition to your résumé.
  • Local MISEN coordinators will work to make sure that you are welcomed into your host community.
